  Paloma was not ready for this mission. She had managed to get lucky on one or two missions previously and somehow, the higher-ups thought she was ready to assist a member of MI6 with hunting down the mysterious Safin, a villian with no code or ethos, who makes no demands and simply carries out his actions with no warning. He cannot be ransomed with, he cannot be paid off, and as of yet, no one has seen his face or communicated with him. He speaks through a mask with a voice modifier that no one has been able to reverse engineer.

Yet, here she was, in some far flung corner of the world, waiting to rendezvous with some world renowned British secret agent who had come out of retirement for this case and this case alone. All she had was a name and the reputation that went with it: James Bond. Old-school, shot first and asked questions later. Paloma was by the book: interrogations and subversion always before violence whenever possible. Information was more powerful than a bullet, she always said. She sat in the hotel bar, waiting for this man to arrive, and ordered another cosmopolitan, her stunning blue dress attracting far too much attention from random men trying to score on their vacations. She never saw the bartender pouring something into her drink, and by the time she realized the drink had been tampered with, it was too late.

Paloma woke up in a basement somewhere outside of the city, tied to a chair. She knew there was no use screaming for help, so she waited. Eventually, the door opened and what she could only guess was Safin appeared, mask and all. But when Safin got close and took the mask off, Paloma gasped. Safin wasn't a man at all, but rather a shockingly beautiful woman, with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Paloma is literally speechless.

   Safin is not though. "Hello Paloma of the CIA. Sent here to meet with James Bond and capture or kill me. I have other plans for you."
