So it's a little weird to talk about a character who's also technically me. But, I figured since I had to give myself an avatar to be the face of my profile and a recurring character for me to speak through. In a way my OCs reflect a part of myself, Hypno Lord I guess represents a few of those combined, but especially represents my love for the hypnosis genre. Like I said, it's weird describing it since part of him is me and part of him is a character. Hypno Lord officially debuted in the 100th deviation I made, revealing part of his backstory and his place as head of the Legion of Hypnosis, as well as info on what that group even does. Enjoy!

Personality: Knowledgeable, enigmatic, confident, cunning, tends to multitask on projects, and sometimes comes off as jovial but is quick to get serious depending on the situation.

Likes:Experiments, hypnosis, creating new hypnotic inventions, researching the art of hypnosis and mind control, pushing the boundaries of his work, finding new ways to hypnotize, and success for the Legion of Hypnosis.

Dislikes: Difficult subordinates, hitting roadblocks in his work, Legion members nearly exposing the Legion's existence, stubbornness, bananas on pizza (it's seriously a thing), resistance to hypnosis, people finding his secret lair, and people who mock his inventions.

Background: Not much is known about Hypno Lord, it seems he went to great detail to keep his life from before a secret. Though most think that his story was linked to a disappearance that lined up with the forming of the Legion of Hypnosis. The boy believed to have been the Hypno Lord was a genius, unfortunately he got picked on by all the girls in his school. They called him names, humiliated him in front of everyone, and played with his emotions all because he was different. He was a constant laughing stock and eventually he just couldn't take it anymore. He put his genius to work to get revenge on those who mocked him. Using what he knew about the human brain he crafted a ray gun that would hit the target with electrical impulses that would make them obedient to him, he used this to humiliate them the way they humiliated him. The boy soon disappeared after that, presumably studying and improving till he would one day become the Hypno Lord! At least that's the theory anyway, nobody truly knows whether or not this boy and the Hypno Lord are the same person and those who have tried to find the answers have hit dead ends, but through certain comments Hypno Lord has made himself, signs seem to point to this not being coincidence. Regardless, the Hypno Lord runs the Legion of Hypnosis giving its members a place to belong and hone their craft, while he himself does the same in his private lab. Though some have tried to dethrone him, the Hypno Lord is seemingly prepared for any situation, showing why they call him the Hypno Lord!

Extra: The Hypno Lord is being versed in all manner of hypnosis and mind control. He is wary of the mystical ways and their strengths and weaknesses, he's also has learned the more traditional way of hypnosis and carries around a pocket watch just for that reason. However, Hypno Lord's preferred methods are through science and a lot of his gear reflects that. He has special goggles that protect him from hypnotic visuals and hypnosis that relies on eye contact and can reflect them back at the user, noise canceling earplugs for situations with subliminal audio and hypnotic sounds, and his signature tool "The Mesmerizer"! The Mesmerizer is the Hypno Lord's first and most favorite creation, it's raygun that fires electrical impulses into the subjects mind that make the target obedient to him and has a variety of functions. A standard zap from the mesmerizer makes up to five targets at a time suggestible and allows the Hypno Lord to put in more specific commands after, the "Sublimi-Flash" feature fires of a blinding light that instantly and quickly programs the subject with the basic trance (it's good for entrancing large crowds, wide scale memory wipes, and quick escapes) however trance does wear off after a certain amount of time if no commands are given. Other features include "illusion", which makes the target see and feel something that's not there (good for distractions) and "vertigo" to disorient a target. The Hypno Lord is a scientist who's not afraid to show off his inventions.
