(There are several major changes to the Harry Potter canon, as will be obvious if you continue reading.)

The Great Hall was filled with students, all waiting with baited breath. In the room’s centre stood a wooden cup, eternally burning a bright blue flame, that lit the darkened room. For the first time in over 200 years, the Triwizard Tournament had returned, with the three largest wizarding schools in Europe competing for the glory of winning the Triwizard Cup and the prize that came with it. It was a dangerous tournament, with many a death having occurred in years past. As a result, several new safety measures had been introduced, including the limitation that all competitors must be of age. Another change was the addition of a new school to the tournament, the American Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in an attempt to branch out and better connect the wizarding world in the face of its many recent threats, Grindelwald and Voldemort among them. This technically made the event the Tetrawizard Tournament, although no one called it that, agreeing the former name had a certain ring to it.

Before the tournament could begin, each school had to select a champion. To ensure the impartial selection of a worthy candidate, this process was carried out not by a person, but instead by the fiery cup that all now stared at. Mirabel Garlick was among the students staring into the flame, in her final year, and having in the heat of the moment cast her own name into the flame. She didn’t have high hopes for her chances, figuring an ambitious Slytherin or a daring Gryffindor more likely to be chosen, but still, she found herself vibrating with anticipation, picturing herself bringing glory to Hufflepuff, that house that so often seemed to be the subject of mockery.

Suddenly, her thoughts are interrupted, as the flame turns from blue to a brilliant bright red. The low rumble of whispers is silenced, as a charred piece of paper is flung out from the cup, floating down into the hand of the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. Opening the note, his eyes look through his half-moon spectacles onto the paper. In a commanding voice he declares, “The Durmstrang champion is Delphini Delvina.” The Durmstrang students erupted into applause, as a witch bearing blue highlights and eyeliner rises, confidently striding towards the headmaster.

Little did Mirabel, Delphi, or anyone else in the room know, the young witch was far more than met the eye. While she knew herself only as a simple orphan, in actuality, she was the daughter of the notorious dark wizard Voldemort, and his most sycophantic supporter, Bellatrix Lestrange. Born during the Great Wizarding War, she was only young when her father met his seeming demise. Wanting nothing more than to see the Dark Lord rise in another form, Bellatrix had hidden his heir away at an orphanage upon the European mainland, allowing Bellatrix continue to fight for her lord even after his apparent death. She was soon arrested, leaving her daughter to grow up without knowledge of her origins. Still, even without the guidance of her parents, Delphi naturally seemed drawn to the Dark Arts, to their promise of power, to the escape they offered from her obscurity. She was willing to use any means to triumph in this tournament, and would not hesitate to use even Unforgivable Curses if she believed it would give her an edge. Durmstrang had nurtured her natural talent in the Dark Arts, and she knew her Imperius Curses would break even the strongest of wills. Any that she cursed would feel immeasurable bliss at carrying out her every action, making them mere puppets to her will.

Of course, the show did not stop there. With another burst of red flame, a second piece of parchment comes flying out of the goblet. Again, the note is read, this time revealing that “From our newest school to the tournament, Ilvermorny, we have Queenie Goldstein!” A blonde witch dressed in a pink coat and hat appears out of the mismatched crowd in one corner of the room. Evidently, Ilvermorny was rather more lax in its uniform standards. She eagerly stepped forward, smiling gleefully as she met with Dumbledore.

While Queenie did not quite have the notorious history of the witch who had stepped up before her, she still was much more than met the eye. She was an incredibly naturally gifted legilimens, capable of reading the minds of those around her without even trying. Right now her mind was a cacophony of noise, as she heard the thoughts and feelings of all those getting their first impressions of her. While not bearing the same ruthlessness as Delphi, Queenie was committed to winning the tournament in order to gain glory for not just her country, but her entire continent. She was a skilled spellcaster, with a particular affinity for entrancing enchantments, having stolen many a heart when she perceived love ought to be. These spells could of course have their use in the tournament, where it was well known that cheating was an expectation, and if one could get away with casting a spell on an opponent, then all power to them.

The next name called was “The Beauxbatons Champion, Fleur Delacour!” While the previous two students were pretty, they might as well have been hags compared to the silvery blonde haired woman, who now floated gracefully to the room’s centre. While the other women had of course gained the audience’s interest, Fleur had the crowd utterly fixated, half of them looking lustily upon her, while many of the others were wearing their jealousy plainly.

Unlike the other contestants, Fleur was no mere witch, instead being one quarter Veela, a species with magic that causes them to possess superhuman beauty, a trait that Fleur had clearly inherited. In addition, she was capable of performing a Veela dance, an extremely hypnotically seductive motion. With Fleur’s honed talents, her dance could not only make willing slaves of anyone attracted to her sex, it could also turn even the straightest of women and gayest of men. Looking around the room, she thought winning on charm alone would be unlikely to be too challenging a task. Contestants, judges, all could be brought on side, especially once they saw her at the Yule Ball, set to take place halfway through the tournament. Mirabel especially was already finding the French witch quite irresistible.

Finally, there was one name left to call out. As always, the host school was left until last, and a hush fell over the room once more. Mirabel could barely imagine going up against such beautiful and intimidating women as those announced, and had begun to resign herself to the idea that she couldn’t possibly be selected. She began to tune out the world, but through the fog of her mind she made out two words, “Mirabel Garlick”. Looking up, she saw the headmaster staring directly at her, and realised against all odds, she had been selected. Her excited Hufflepuff housemates begin to encourage her to get up, and so she rose, still in shock, to shake the wise old headmaster’s hand.

She then went off to stand with the other champions, Queenie and Fleur smiling, while Delphi wore a scowl, seemingly displeased about something. Mirabel looks out upon the crowd, and finally it begins to truly dawn upon her what she had just been chosen for. This was a tournament that had claimed the lives of many, where she would have to outcompete both her opponents, and whatever fearsome obstacles lay at each of the three challenging tasks. This year was sure to be her toughest yet, and that was even without knowing the secret skills the women beside her possessed. Still, Mirabel wasn’t the Hogwarts Champion for nothing. She was a genius at herbology, and not too shabby at making potions from her plants either. If her opponents were going to play dirty, then she would too, and who knew, perhaps the others would find out their own personal flavour of Amortentia, if they underestimated the green-thumbed witch.

Initially this was just going to be an alternate version of Goblet of Fire where Fleur is a bit less ethical, so uses her Quarter Veela nature to make the other contestants her love slaves, and claim victory. However, I realised I didn’t have much interest in malesub, so I tried switching out the other contestants for female characters. Then I realised there were barely any major female characters who were of the right age to enter the tournament (let alone any from Durmstrang), and since I was already aging people up, I decided to screw the cannon, and just toss in a character from four of the most major Wizarding World properties. (Hogwarts Legacy is clearly recency bias, but what can you do?) As for character choice, two of the four characters canonically use mind control, Delphini isn’t much of a stretch, and Garlick was clearly the obvious choice for a Hogwarts Legacy character, filling Cedric’s Hufflepuff role, while also being both beautiful and canonically gay.

I hope having a domme battle makes this a bit more interesting, and that some of you enjoy a few of the more obscure Wizarding World characters. If someone wants to RP, we can probably talk about changing some characters, if desired. I may even do malesub to make it a bit closer to the canon, but only if I play the male roles. Otherwise, pick any of the four characters and tell me my starting role too, and perhaps if an RP goes long enough, one of the four will stand triumphant over the rest, and maybe even find some lovely dates for the Yule Ball too.

If anyone’s keeping track, I think the changes to the canon are the new contestants (other than Fleur), the new birth years of Delphi, Queenie, and Mirabel, the added involvement of Ilvermorny with the cup, the removed involvement of Barty Crouch Jr with the goblet, the country that Delphi is raised within, and slight personality changes to the main characters, to allow for more hypnodommes.

Also, I can do sex scenes, but prefer them to be brief, or otherwise I may become disinterested in the RP.
