Description
The snake spoke softly, captivating Jyoti with his knowledge of the vast and beautiful treasures hidden deep within the ancient palace. His eyes began to bubble with vivid colors, capture the girl's gaze. Soon, his words changed. He no longer spoke of gold or jewels or magnificent tapestries adorning stone walls, but of hunger, of surrender, of sleep. The words penetrated Jyoti's mind, but she did not hear them. She was being pulled into the swirling colors. She didn't notice that the snake's coils were beginning to creep up her body. She could not feel the snake stroking her hair with his tail. It didn't matter, anyway. Nothing mattered anymore. Not the ancient palace, not returning home, not the feeling of freedom that she loved. Only rest. She had to rest...
