Found these lines of one of my Hyracidi subspecies while going through my WIP-folder. The design is already outdated again but I decided to try something new with it... and I love the way this dot-shading looks! Takes forever though :/

Medium: Edding 1800 0.1 mm + 0.3 mm, Faber Castell Ecco Pigment 0.05 mm

I do think stipple is definitely a wonderful way to shade bone for sure. So real, as actual bone as it ages loses calcium and develops all those tiny holes and dimples in reality. :3

Well, it's not really normal bone but a mixture between soft tissue and an exoskeleton, but I find the texture fitting nontheless

This is beautiful! I love the effect of stipple and the way you used it to bring out detail and texture.
But yes, it does take a lot of time and patience, doesn't it? I find that I can do perhaps one stipple project per year.

Thank you! It wasn’t so bad on my hands (it’s only A5 sized and I split it up over 3 days) but I got rather impatient towards the end

Das sieht einfach mal so hammergeil aus, aber das hab ich ja schon über Whatsapp gesagt. Die Tatsace, dass du einfach mal auf die Idee gekommen bist diesen Wissenschafts-Abbildungsstil für deine Kunst auszunutzen ist mega originell. Ich wäre niemals auf sowas gekommen xD Und es hat sich auch dementsprechend gelohnt, Wahnsinn!
