The colours I had posted in the first posting of Star's v2 design weren't exactly what I had planned to be final. In fact, in a lot of ways I was unsure what her colour palette should be: should I stick to a strong blue theme, or should I move away from blue and make her something else.After Aea sent me a modified version of the design (It took out all of the frills and the cravat, though she added a tie (I'm not keeping the tie, though. I don't want anything around her neck like that. That's why I don't bother changing the tie colour)), I set to work with a few ideas.
Several of the ideas I had posted the other day, I scrapped. Both greens were removed, one of the blues was taken out, and the pink and red with white piping was taken out. In their places come three new ones: a much better green, a violet, and a teal (Thanks for suggesting teal, Mayshing! You just made this harder for me! XD)
I'm not sure which to go with now...

My second pick would be bottom left, the dark grey - blue combo works quite well.

blue with gray.
Orange hair tend to work with blues.

I just realized, which blue one? One uses a darker blue, while the other is a "black." Neither are really grey.

to me that 'black' is dark gray. it's looks To be only 70% gray on grayscale. (that's my guess)

Sadly, blue's the one I'm trying to avoid. D: After years of having Star with blue as a primary colour, I want to break her away from it. I left it in there since it's more legacy, and because the initial colours Aea gave me were blue, but I'd like to see if anything else works.
That said, thanks to some advice, I'm making use of kuler to find interesting palettes that I think could work. XD I got one consisting of violets that looks rather nice.

you can also try teal on her, a slight blue-green variation of the green u got there. Teal is a popular girl color.

That green is terrible. I made a better green. However, I will try a teal one as well (though I shouldn't, ahaha)

violet works with orange nicely too. its split complimentary.
