... boss... notI might win an award for most senseless walthrough/tutorial with this~
I sketch in a rather weird way... since a lot of people keep asking: "How do you sketch so clean? How do you sketch? How do you ...?"
So i made this. Lets see the steps:
1) I usually never know what i will draw, because if i plan i end up screwing up everything from anatomy to overall logic of the whole picture. So i get a huge brush and stroke random lines shaped a bit like a person
2) Draw the actual rough animu person based on the previous shape. (I recommend drawing guidelines for anatomy if you want to improve. My anatomy rly sucks, and i just keep ignoring it /shot)
3) LOLification... cut the legs... don't ask why...
4) I don't like how it looks... redraw. Also a lot of erasing here, i clean the picture as i go, to define the final shapes until...
5) The finished thing. Sign like a boss. Pose like a boss. Go pee.
Well that made sense didn't it? -__-
Points to remember:
- It's not clean, it's messy most of the process x.x
- Use guidelines to learn...
- Use Horizontal Flip a LOT, it helps you fix the anatomy (if it looks ok from one side, it shoul dlook ok from the other too~)
- Plan your drawings if you can D:
PS sorry for big file... i forgot how to set a preview pic -_-"

I use PaintTool SAI. It's a common program but a lot of people use Photoshop, too~ Actually i think Photoshop is a lot more common 0_o

You are insane. I looooooove it
and the girl came out so cute that i just wanna come up to her and ask her: "does this rag smell like chloroform to you?" and then after she passes out i want to bring her to my house for a tea party with lots of cheese cake :3 (and by tea party i mean exactly that. nothing else implied by it)

Hello, sorry for a realyl late reply. Here you go
[link]
It's just a normal SAI brush with changed Density and some other stuff basically. I tend to change a few things as i draw to experiment. So it's not like a stick to one brush. This setting is probably what i use th emost for sketching~

i think the random blobs is quite common for conceptual drawing and mecha as you said I need to practice a lot more to do that thouhgh haha :"D

Ah but that's a lot better than "clean" stuff that i do :"> Gesture drawing can express a lot more feelings and aestetics in general, i wish i could do it :">

Well i'm sorry if she appears fat to you otl. I don't usually draw extremely skinny characters
Also it's a walthrough/process/tutorial, so judging individual steps is kinda weird 0.o

Looks perfectly reasonable to me! I flip a lot when I draw on paper, lol. Always hold it backwards up to the light. And it NEVER looks right... When I fix it to look right flipped, then I flip back and it looks messed up again. T^T
Also, I'm amused how she got shorter and more loli with each step.

You know, I started to use the blob thing to sketch as well. It's surprisingly easier to create a human shape through the blobs rather than start drawing the person right away~ so I think our sketch process is rather similar (and just as messy). Maybe except for the fact that I make V in a new layer.
