... boss... notI might win an award for most senseless walthrough/tutorial with this~
I sketch in a rather weird way... since a lot of people keep asking: "How do you sketch so clean? How do you sketch? How do you ...?"
So i made this. Lets see the steps:
1) I usually never know what i will draw, because if i plan i end up screwing up everything from anatomy to overall logic of the whole picture. So i get a huge brush and stroke random lines shaped a bit like a person
2) Draw the actual rough animu person based on the previous shape. (I recommend drawing guidelines for anatomy if you want to improve. My anatomy rly sucks, and i just keep ignoring it /shot)
3) LOLification... cut the legs... don't ask why...
4) I don't like how it looks... redraw. Also a lot of erasing here, i clean the picture as i go, to define the final shapes until...
5) The finished thing. Sign like a boss. Pose like a boss. Go pee.
Well that made sense didn't it? -__-
Points to remember:
- It's not clean, it's messy most of the process x.x
- Use guidelines to learn...
- Use Horizontal Flip a LOT, it helps you fix the anatomy (if it looks ok from one side, it shoul dlook ok from the other too~)
- Plan your drawings if you can D:
PS sorry for big file... i forgot how to set a preview pic -_-"

thank you xD I rly suck at making up new poses so i just draw random shapes as first step and move on from that :">
Also because of that lolification step i can't draw anything but lolis and shotas /shot

You have a very... unique process LOL.
I dislike how you can get the anatomy right so easily. /tabletoss For me it's like GUIDELINES GUIDELINES MOAR GUIDELINES OOP.

also use Horizontal flip A LOT, it works wonders when you try to find mistakes

Nah my anatomy is rather inaccurate :"> Though by drawing a lot, i just got a feel for a body shape that i use to draw my characters. It looks okay but it's definitely not anatomically accurate xD
By using guidelines you'll learn a lot more and also slowly you will need less of them, and by that time you will get the "feel" that most pro artists have, it helps you feel what looks "ok" and what doesn't (also that helps you shape your overall style)

Do you carve a sketch out of step 1? Or is it just there for size comparison? xD

i draw the sketch over on a new layer. The actual "carving is from step III. onwards"
