Some people are probably going to say "God loves sinners, just not their sins."
Well, homosexuality isn't a sin dearies.
Good stamp. Spread the love, and NOT the condemnation.

I feel this quote would be better served in another medium, or perhaps made shorter. I believe God does not hate them as well, I believe the lifestyle is where the line is drawn. But as I was saying, the size of a stamp reveals so little information at a time, and we;re looking at a short paragraph. It just doesn't work as effectively since it takes so long to read in whole, the purpose of a stamp is to get the idea across quickly and cleanly.

Pardon me, I was a bit hyper last night.
That happens towards midnight.
Anywho, I love this point. Many a Christians are showing far too much hate toward Gays, Transgenders, etc.
This proves an excellent point.
If God disapproves of gays or transgenders, why not disapprove of all other things as eating disorders, alcoholics, perverts, sadists, those who steal, or even a simple sinful thought.
It's unfair to single out Gays or Transgenders, or any type of person of the sort.

(Misquote) everyone makes it. Look closely for the difference:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Did you see it? It says "should" not perish.
Hereβs an example of the difference.
#1 The USA should not spend imaginary money and send us into recession.
#2 The USA shall not spend imaginary money and send us further into a recession.
The verse is basically saying you believe? Hey! you are almost there. But Wait! Listen, still hope;
John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
So you also have to be born again. I wonβt get into this because I am heavily digressing, but message me if you want some more of that.
Back to Homosexuals and the effeminate.
I cannot convince anyone that homosexuality is wrong, but can scripture?
Romans 2:1 Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself
Oh wait, that one condemns anyone who tells you that you are sinning! Ok, let me try again. Is this the one?
Matthew 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.
Do I condemn you? No, go now and sin no more.
You also might want to take a look at Romans CH 1, but only when you feel you are ready.
what about me? ---> [link]

I dunno, I'm kinda mad at the people calling themselves christians who condemn gays, and I'd love for gays to have a few verses to throw at the people who are hating gays.
I kinda deflected my own rant on gays there.
Maybe I was too nice myself. It says it pretty clearly in the bible that it is wrong. But I'd be a hypocrite to say I don't do plenty wrong myself.
I want them to know not every Christian wants their heads on a pike.

pichud In reply to i-am-anonymous [2009-02-20 07:24:27 +0000 UTC]
Sure, I'll throw some verses at ya.
I Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals...
Another set of examples is in Romans 1:18- on. part of it->
Rom 1:26-27 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Which is pretty depressing. Didn't want to discourage, so instead I threw in the bit about praying and waiting.
π: 0 β©: 1

pichud In reply to i-am-anonymous [2009-02-20 19:35:52 +0000 UTC]
Well it says they "will not inherit the kingdom of God"
The kingdom of God is heaven. Getting into heaven is kinda important to Christians. We want to be with our Father forever.
I get to tell you that there is hope, that the sin can be covered by the blood, that I have been justified from being an idolator even though I fall often, and anyone can too. (be justified)
I commented because I do Not want anyone to hate or condemn homosexuals, especially misled Christians. Or anyone else, for that matter.
Jesus said himself he didn't want to condemn the world, but through him it might be saved.
I hope everyone at least might have learned something to help stop the hate, that love might abound.

Every Man's Battle
by Stephen Arterburn
This is a Christian book on battling sexual arousal and temptation. I've heard of many homosexuals and even heterosexuals (like me) have good results from applying it.
There is a similar book for Women called:
Every Woman's Battle
by Shannon Ethridge
Same company makes it. This is a level that even the average Christian has not gone to. It takes a lot of effort, regardless.

This stamp almost made me cry... it sums up just about everything I wish I could get my parents to understand. Aheh! How come God can befriend prostitutes and tax collectors, forgiving their sins while people today think so much worse of a homosexual or transsexual who is not harming anyone with crime...?
Even if I do go to hell, I wish to serve the greater good with WHO I am inside; not what I am seen for OUTside. Then at least I can say I tried. There's no way of knowing what's out there--but I believe in a god who is the Prince of Peace, not prejudice.

I dunno how they can be both, but if they start getting into a huffy about something, just say, "Jesus teaches love and acceptance, Can you try to mold yourself a little more to that kind of teachings?" There would be no reason to say scripture as an example, they should know if they have read the Bible.
That's one way to look at it. Kind of like Our test. While we are Other people's test, being who we are is our own (right?).

Shao-Feng-Li In reply to i-am-anonymous [2008-10-20 14:09:03 +0000 UTC]
Quite sure:
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up to vile affections. For even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one towards another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventers of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who, knowing the judgment of God, that they who commit such things are worthy of death; not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
There are other verses too, but I don't know off the top of my head where they are. The Bible considers homosexuality a sexual perversion, such as adultery (though more aggravated.) Christians will resist those sins and temptations more and more during their walk with Christ.

i dont understand your version of the bible.. what are you using i am using ESV
and mine says (what i'm pointing out anyway) 1:28 and since they did not see fit to aknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what they ought not to be done.
I aknowledge God more the you would think. Transsexual or not! that has nothing to do with my faith!
1:31...foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
well... i am not heartless if i was i would be able to just shrug off your comment that tells me i am going to hell!
and as for my faith! it may not be the oldest faith... for that matter it was just last friday that i accepted Jesus. but i did accept him!
1 John 5:10-13 (10)Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his son. (11) And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (12) Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
(13)I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you many know that you have eternal life.
pretty much... if you have Jesus, the Son of God with you, you are granted a place in Heaven, and if you dont you dont have the place.
John11:25-26 (25)Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, (26) and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
yet again if you believe in Jesus, even when you die, you are still alive by His side!
and John 10:28-30 (28) I give them all eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. (29) My Father, who has given them to me, is greater then all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's Hand. (30) I and the Father are one.
once Jesus, or the Father, has you, nobody can ever take them away from Him, Not man, Not the devil! and not you.
I am saved through Jesus. and when Judgment day comes, i will be next to Jesus... will you?

Sigh...
I think you've missed my point entirely. I don't doubt your faith at all. I can't decide whether or not you're saved or unsaved or anything like that.
Christian faith is proven by the life one leads. The fruit doesn't make a tree good or bad, but tells us weather or not it's a good tree or a bad tree. You're transsexualism is a sin and I hope God (the one who made you a man and did not make a mistake and give you a wrong body) deliverers you from it.
All that being said, we all have our own sins to over come.

to be saved you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour... and i have.
My faith is still new. and maybe your right maybe Jesus will change my mind on that. but at this point He hasn't. and i believe that if he is going to he will do it soon. because well... my thoughts about that have not changed. and at this point you are only making them stronger. making me question myself is one thing... but making me question my faith... that's different. i didn't question myself. i questioned my faith because of you. and yet here i am still defending it.
how about you re reading Romans 1:29-32 and think about what you are doing to me. any of those apply to you? (i know the answer)

Sure a few would as they apply to just about every human being on the face of the planet.

God freed my grandmother from homosexuality when she became a christian, btw.
moar food for thought:
Rom 6:1-4 (NIV)
1) What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2) By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3) Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4) We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Get used to discussions like this. We Christians like to do this sort of thing, and its nothing personal--you should be doing the reading yourself! (Might I recommend the easy to read translation called "The Message." It usually comes in a side-by-side book, with NIV on one side and The Message on the other)
Just watch out for Legalism in the Church. Through the *grace* of God you were saved, through his *grace* you were forgiven of your sins. God will forgive you if you make a mistake, but you shouldn't go on living in sin like nothing happened. I'll be sure to pray for you.
