I, even when i am depressed and need help, say, when asked "how are you", I'm fine. But i'm not!
Go around, your school, work, home, etc., and ask, "How are you," Count how many times people say, "I'm fine." and don't be shocked by the numbers. then ask yourself, how many of these people are actually fine, and how many are lying when they say that?

Sometimes when people ask the question, I just answer 'I'm fine' because if I would tell the truth I know many of them wouldn't like the answer.

God, Why is it so hard for someone to say something other then 'I'm fine'? That's all that people say now-a-days, And you can never really tell who is telling the truth, and who is crying on the inside, wishing someone knew it was a lie.
I for one though, Never say 'I'm fine'. For some odd reason, I'm a little too honest with the people around me. I'll tell them how I'm feeling, Even though I know most people don't really care

and if I'm not fine, I say just that.
Then they ask why, and I tell them "long story", when really I know if I told them, they wouldn't care.

I agree completely dear: often unfortunately people need to be more willing to help others, then telling people their own issues is easier.

I say i am fine all the time.. no one understands... ;.; right now tho.. Dont u hate how you read or see movies or whatever and they can see oast the words.. yet no one can in real life D8 But.. i am fine right now

Most people asks "How are you?" just because that's the way to behave and not because they care, and that's why "I'm fine" is the pre-established answer. Only your real friends will be ready for your actual answer/will respond with the truth if you're the one asking them.
