Description
Hey guys. This is the first drawing I've done in a while that I'm really pleased with. I haven't had much motivation for art lately but I've been looking at other amazing artists and playing games with awesome scenery which inspired me and got me motivated again. So hopefully you'll see a lot more stuff uploaded in the future.
Hope you enjoy.

Which games inspired this? The floating pieces of land remind me a little of Bastion hah

Nothing really directly inspired this, but I've been playing Halo 4 which has stunning scenery which made me motivated to draw some kinda environment. The idea was original though

This is a cool concept, but I am finding it hard to get a sense of the sizes of the islands. The moss and grass make them look like floating patches of dirt, but the waterfalls look too straight to be trickles. Small streams of water tend to be flung out off of cliffs, giving them a bit of a curve as the water descends down the cliff. However, these streams seem to be going down suddenly, giving the islands a huge appearance. I think it's just a matter of adding some more foliage and detail to the islands, maybe a mountain or something on one. Or even a small village somewhere with some smoke rising from it's fireplaces. The grass just doesn't seem like it belongs. It just looks too big compared to everything else. It's pretty good so far, but I think you may need to define the islands a bit more. Still, though, good work on this. I have always loved floating islands and their seemingly magical and unearthly appearance.

Thanks very much for the constructive criticism. I thought over what you said about the confusion of sizes and I've mad a few small changes to hopefully solve that. I intended the pieces of land to be small, like floating steps (hence the title change) and I have changed the water to more of a trickle, as you suggested, would make the land look smaller.

Yeah, it looks a lot better now. And you're welcome for the critique.
