Description In the novel "The Call of Cthulhu", Lovecraft stated that the city of R'lyeh had non-euclidean geometry.

This is not specifically R'lyeh, and I don't know if what i painted is really non-euclidean; still this came out while thinking about that kind of geometry.

you have helped inspire me for my art project for my final piece. i have also looked at this document "Monstrous Geometries in the Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft Moritz Ingwersen " and the  following artists, matt w moore , andy gilmore, leif podhajsky, sam chivers, zdzisław beksiński  and HR Giger. also heres this document  "The Anti-Architecture of H.P. Lovecraft". or maybe the builds are strange ghostly disfigured fractals...
thanks for the image i will credit you.

Sort of. He never said it was warped space or physics defying like some of this. Just said it's non-Euclidean, which seems to be an absence of parallel lines. The term 'non-Euclidean' seems to be a bit vague and broad, since it could mean any geometry that's not Eulidean (which is quite a lot apparently). A convex is one form of non-Euclidean geometry, and a concave is another. So it could be all concave surfaces. Or it could be all convex. Or it could be both.

Still, you did a good job with what little you had. I know it's not specifically R'lyeh, but still.

This probably sums up what Lovecraft pictured in his head.

I knew. It was Cthulhu as soon as I saw it.

This picture let me understand what he meant when he said you couldn't tell if the door was horizontal or diagonal (in R'Lyeh, in Call of Cthulu).

I do wish it was dark, greenish and slimy.

Definitely looks like non-euclidean geometry to me, also looks r'lyeh cool!
