Description Quick thing I whipped up from the HP 7 text. I'm not talking specifically about this book, but in general. If there's a movie and a book, go read it. It's not that hard and you'll get more out of it. If anything, you'll know how to spell the names properly. Haha.

One thing this particularly irks me with is my favorite, Lord of the Rings. Sure the movies are fantastic epics (in my pov), but really need to read the books to fully appreciate it.

Years later, this stamp is still turning out to be true (aka Game of Thrones!)

Thank you. I'm so sick of hearing people complain about "but it's just boring, no offense." Definite fav.

Haha, this stamp says what I say alot when people who've only seen the movie version of something have no idea what you're talking about, like A Series of Unfortunate Events, Harry Potter, Interview with the Vampire, The Bad Seed, The Queen of the Damned, etc.

Oh so true. Reading the books, (especially Lord of the Rings) is so more rewarding.

I so wish I had a subscription, this would certainly be a stamp I would snag automatically. I confess to not always reading the book, the only reason I read Lord of the Rings was because of the movies. Which, now I am an obsessive Tolkien fan and have gone on to read other works..
Anyways, off track. (I get annoyed at people who bitch about Tom Bombadil) I get so pissed at the idea of people comparing and basing their views off of movies. From a literary stand point, the Harry Potter movies completly suck. So then people will be like "Well such and such is crap because the movie is crap." GO READ THE BOOK!
I can't post the stamp, but I certainly can support it! Thanks for saying something that needed to be said!

I can't see a movie then read a book, so I usually try to read the book if I'm going to see the movie.

I did read the LoTR books, I enjoyed the first couple, but after that it kind of bored me to death. x.x

Too freaking awsome!
I'm a book junkie, (my name is selina, and I have a problem) I frequently get my books taken away by teachers.

I actually drove my ENGLISH TEACHER twrds hatred of a famous classic, Les Miserables, she even went far enough to BAN the book from her classroom.

Preach it! The worst one I can think of right now is the Eragon movie. Excellent book, HORRID movie. After I was done watching it, I wanted to know where the movie was - it felt like watching a two hour trailer for the movie and not the movie itself because they left sooo much out.

Wonderful! I work in a library and am definitely a HUGE book nerd (esp for HP!)... I get so frustrated with people who refuse to read! It's not torture, it's fun! :sigh:

Haha, I know! I work in a library, so I get to be around people who like books, but most of my friends don't understand why I ENJOY my lit homework. My boyfriend and a few of our friends are involved in making games (either going to school for it, or already working for game companies), and they are constantly trying to get me to play video games and I'll be like, "Can't I just sit and read instead?" Haha... I thought it was supposed to be the other way around - people trying to get you to STOP playing video games to read!

You work in a library? You're SO lucky! I wish I could
work in a library and read all day. Wouldn't it be horrible if there was watching TV homework or playing game boy homework? My brother would love it, but I wouldn't.

Haha, it's awful sometimes, though! Because you're staring at all of these books that you want to be reading, but you need to get your work done first! lol

I have a lot of books in my room and when I'm doing my homework all I can think is "Must read books!" So sometimes I have to go work in the kitchen to make sure I get my work done.

I should be doing homework too, but I was sick on Friday (I still am sick really, I have a fever) so I do not have any of my books.

The problem with the LOTR books is that they get somewhat... long winded. I know that's part of tolkien's appeal/style, but there comes a point when it's too much detail. Damn good read, but there's a few bits that its just too wordy, i think.

Like war and peace. I tried reading that, i really did. But after a dozen pages about some party, i gave up, cos it was just too damned wordy. I'll have to try again one day, i'm sure it really is very good.
