Description
Very quick entry for the map challenge contest at AH.com - earth through alien eyes. This map shows images of the earth in four frequency spectra with annotations - can you guess what each of the four is. The text should be a give away to what the alien species might be

Wow. Amazing.
I would think No 1 is a heat map (Infrared) and No 2 is visible light.
My guess for No 3 would be a radiation map, so Gamma rays, judging from Los Angeles and the (former) central USSR. Took a while to think of that though, so I may well be wrong.
No 4 is very interesting. The dot seems to be west of Ireland, as far as I can tell. My first guess would be that it is the Moon passing in front of the scanners, but it's a bit small. Perhaps some ATL explosion? I'm drawing a blank on that one.

Very good, the third one is actually point energy sources - nuclear detonations & volcanic eruptions over the past centuries. The fourth is in western Switzerland...

I'm studying physics and have been to Geneva and CERN twice, so I know about the LHC
I was just intrigued as to how it would show up on this map as opposed to, say, the Tevatron. I assumed something must have happened to bring it to the attention of the aliens, such as the press speculation of creating black holes (don't get me started on that) or emitting/creating some sort of strange radiation or effect like the many versions of the LHC in popular culture (like Flash-forward or Angels and Daemons).
Just curious, that's all. And a little annoyed at myself that I didn't guess it in the first place.
