I've joined a group on Instagram where you complete 3 or more small trading cards every month that you participate and send them in and then receive cards from other members. You can find details about it here: pabkins.com/blog/February's theme was 'Space Adventure'. This was my third card for that month, a retro Cosmonaut on a strange planet meeting a sexy alien.
I've had the bones of this idea in my head for a while now, and it was just waiting for the right time to grow. I knew that I wanted to show something cool reflecting in the dome of an astronaut's helmet, and our theme inspired me to put a retro John Carteresque alien girl. It was a fun challenge to get the reflected image into a dome shape. I also enjoyed designing an alien world with weird plants and trees.
The gold on the astronaut's suit has the metallic paint this time. I gave him some red trim to hint that maybe he's a cosmonaut.
I hope this one found/finds a good home!
