My brother is the same, although it's more that he has played it too often.
He has beaten Lavos on a second playthrough by happenstance with Chrono alone while he was wearing a berserker.
My brother has beat the game a wee bit too many times in my opinion, although I too love the game quite so.
You gotta give it a bit more love than this if you have 14 versions of it though.. including even the japanese..
