I'll be honest, yes the bulk of my self portrait work is aimed in a more 'feminine' direction but I don't always identify with that. I've had a lot of issues over the years, lots of push and pulls of masculinity and femininity. Which is why my self portrait work has always meant a lot to me as a safe place to express those thoughts. Yes I do enjoy wearing makeup and looking a certain way but truthfully I never really felt a whole connection with it. I've been sporting short masculine hair styles for almost 10 years, with my family and so on saying I should grow it out, what they don't know is that I don't think that would be a fair representation of how I see my self. I guess I do more feminine shoots because I can get away with it however I feel more comfortable when I do the opposite, partially because of my own body image issues. Basically this is my way of saying I'm so fortunate to have an outlet to be able to help let me cope with these issues. If you ever feel like you need to talk about similar things, do feel free to.Sorry for the lengthy message but whatevs. (this is all makeup btw)

This is really impressive, and you're so right, self portraiture is an ideal way to work through emotions and issues, it literally is a form of therapy, to have an outlet to express what we think and feel without fear. Anyway, I like the long captions, it helps to frame the art. It puts us in the artists state of mind which does influence how we see it, I always wrestle with the idea of "is that a good thing?" but I think it is. I like knowing what the artist intended and trying to see if I relate or connect with it on some level. Anyway, you know I think your work is awesome and this is no exception! You are an Amazing Artist!

The make up looks awesome,kinda look like Furioso From fury road....but I love your short hair,you make it look great and your a very beautiful person
