The reason this man is being put to death for is, he had just murdered a whole family and got caught, so an eye for an eye, street justice.

I know that the next scene is hella brutal, but the current scene right now just seems weird. The guy on the left looks like he's smiling, the guy on the right looks like he's being shot by a hair dryer.
