This young bear is probably wishing he had slept in until June as he digs through the snow in search of food.After searching for some time, he looked up at me and seemed to say,
"Its not as easy as it looks, why don't you come over and try finding dinner this way?"
I declined on his offer and ate at subway that night

That is one expressive bear. How you "caught" it looking right at you is a great feature in this photo, not to be forgotten. I also like the 'story' you told in Comments... it's amusing and delightful.

Wow another great capture. And marks indeed another subject which I have been searching for to film. Sadly I know nothing of bears or their nature and hope to not find myself in trouble with such due to lack of knowledge. But we don\'t have many here so I guess the chances or rather low. I intended on reading up on them before really going in search of. Any rate your work has really taken a step up. Not saying it was lacking before by any means just that you have leveled and in a good way.

I hope that at least part of it is me myself improving in my skills :-p This new lens I have purchased has really raised the bar on clarity and sharpness for me!
Best things with bears, dont act afraid, dont be afraid and dont run. If you plan on attempting bear photography please carry bear spray. I have been close to them several times with no problems or signs of aggression, Its quite possible if you give them respect to be near them. But you need to keep a safe distance and carry a protective device.

yeah verily i do dig this photo much man. I saw a griz today about 800 yds out and then a blacky about 30 ft away but had his back turned and was walking way...lame-o...the only wolves i saw were thru a wolf watchers scope about a mile out at lamar
