That is true HE did have us on His mind when He died on the cross, and I want to tell the whole world that He loved us enough to die for us, and the sins we committed on earth, and that's the Gospel truth.

I prefer Jesus with dark hair, skin and eyes more than Jesus with light skin and blue eyes... He was a Jew, wasn't he? ;>

It is usually depicted as being in his hands, yes. But that would be historically incorrect, not to mention physically impossible (But of course God can do the impossible 
It is a know fact that the Romans nailed the people through the wrists because the bones in the hands cannot hold up the body. They would break. You can look it up if you'd like. I'm sure the info is available officially somewhere!
