Yes, this is 100% MS Paint and it took me just about a couple months to actually finish. The contest was to create an animal morph or recreation of an animal for the Avatar world. Basically, an Avatar contest, with at least one character in the picture.

Species Alias: Snow Lanpa
Scientific Name: Ailurus Uncia
Crossbred between: Red Panda/Snow Leopard
Height:
Weight: 60 to 80 lbs.
Habitat: N. and S. Water Tribes, Southern Earth Kingdom, seldomnly in the northern-most tips of the Earth Kingdom.
Fur: (m) Black and white with a faint "salmon-red" stripe along the spine (f) "salmon-red" to pinkish and white (all) unique pattern of spots
Eyes: (m) mainly green (f) different hues of blue
Diet: Consists of fish, buffalo dear, mammoths (in a group), hamster, koalaotters, and Kataras...I mean, tiger seals, and penguins. Sometimes certain fruits in the Earth Kingdom's southern and northern tips.
Status: Critical
Description: Snow Lanpas aren't normally aggressive animals unless threatened or protecting their cubs. However, they do not make good pets to keep around the igloo. Men of the Water Tribe used to hunt the carnivores, being a large threat to their own transportation and sources of animal pelts. Fortunately, the hunting has stopped and new traps are being set, so to capture and release, due to belief of causing the Snow Spirits to bring poor hunting and harsh storms that winter. Today (or, in Avatar time), they are normally left alone, and are rather captured by older teens for sport and proof of maturity, only to be set free- a celebration on the Winter Solstice. the animals current competition are the polar bear and wolf.

This took insanely long, but I'm finished. I picked a Snow Leopard/Red Panda because, as you know, the Avatar world has extreme mixes, some of which the animals aren't even related. Here, I decided to cross predator with prey- the red panda being the prey of the snow leopard- and then we get this! Yeah! Suprised I didn't pick Zuzu (that sexy beast)? Well, I felt the need to create a more sibling kind of relationship, with Katara running away in a Lanpa cave to find the creatures inside, crying in fear, and her older brother holding her close and trying with as much effort to protect themselves with an icicle as a weapon. How much more sibling love can you get? Fortunately, Sokka didn't get eaten- nor Katara. Turns out the females have that instant maternal instinct that had them protect and 'nursing' the scared babies, basically taking them in as their own. Or, until Hakoda comes back from his hunt.
In here they are about 6 and 7 years old. Cute, eh?

P.S. Yeah, I'm using their original hairstyles. Braids didn't work for me, but I'm sure Katara had her hair down except the loopies and Sokka had a full head set of hair with the wolf-tail.
And I screwed up the clothing. So what? It's my own design.
And I DID use a lot of reference for this. Especially the poses of the lanpas based on different wild cats and sketched them thousands of times in my sketchbook before my hand officially adapted to the lineart beofre actually drawing it on MS Paint- that's basically what I do for most of my MS Paint drawings anyway...first scribble then pixel.
