MK9 has confused us all!
I though it was like this : Scorpion assisted at Sub-Zero's fight in the 2nd tournament and he momently understood that this was not the Sub-Zero he killed! To atorne the death of Bi-Han, Scorpion decided to become Kuai Liang's Guardian Angel!
None of this happended in MK9
