Description Well it was birthday on the 20th, and I got a starter set of Copic markers! O_O! This was my first test drive with them, and boy oh boy I know what all the fuss is over those things now.

Markers are such a fun medium to color with it's not even funny..and quick! Whole drawing probably took less then an hour.

Woot for birthday markers. ^_^

I was at an arts and crafts store looking for copic markers but I didn't find any. There are a few other places I have yet to check for them though, haha.

As for the blue guy, he is amazing. I just imagined he would have a really deep slow moving voice and he'd be a bit timid. I keep staring into the marker coloring trying to figure out what its like using them.

Ah yes, I keep forgetting how fortunate I am to have an on-campus art store, with copious amounts of hard to find items. It's amazing, the manager of the place scouts for the best deals and when things go on sale, so most of the prices are quite fair. The Copics they sell at our store are around 3.90...I believe they go for around 5ish at other retailers? It's a shame, because if you want to get a really sharp, well shaded piece, you must acquire many shades to get it just right. My birthday gift was a starter pack, and the blue color had around 6 marker shades, so I figured a good creature to color would have to be blue, to get the best effect.

I can't even describe how these markers feel, very satisfying. It's such a unique way of "blending" them, but the overall result is so vivid. It's hard to believe they came out of a marker. It's so wonderful to treat/hold the medium like a pencil, which is my most confident utensil. With paintbrushes and other mediums, I can't hold it right, it doesn't feel natural to me. This is a wonderful alternative to coloring traditionally without photoshop.

Wow sorry to babble about these markers, I just have become so obsessed with them. 99% of my birthday money went to my emerging marker set. I will be sure to upload newest stuff soon.

I love your description of him, I can totally see that too. I want to fluff him so bad. Like a big ol' blue snorlax. Nice. ^_^
