Description
Ok, for my A Lvels I re-designed my room into a futuristic, space ship thing. Nothing cheesy, like Star Trek or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - although I like that - I wanted a different feel to it. More realistic I guess.Red Dwarf inspired me, if you know Red Dwarf like I do, then you can probably spot the similaritites. Also the concept drawings of Ron Cobb who worked on the film A L | E N... his technical drawings were amazing. So there it is... my room.
That's supposed to be a computer under the bed, the chair is my favourite bit. I designed it so the mouse was incorperated into the chair - that's the little ball thing on the end. I only drew one side of the room... which is another reason why I got a crap mark... so that's all I have.
Quite literally... my teachers lost all my bloody paper work... so all my sketches are lost.
Never mind.
Hope someone likes this.

I really like the amount of detail and design that you put into this. It sort of reminds me of the inside of the Milennuim Falcon from Star Wars. But, not as old and worn out. I like how this has a used look to it, it's more realistic. A lot of sci-fi buildings or structures or what have you seem to look like they're shiny and brand new all the time...I can't stand that. I'm pretty sure the future will have it's dirty moments too.

Thank you, I agree totally about that... some sci fi films bug me because of the architecture and design of the interiors. I'm glad you picked that up in my drawing, it was kind of the driving force behind it.

Moebius is a great European comic-book artist, look for it in the net, perhaps you'll like it. ^.^

I love the level of thought that you obviously put into this. The detail is great, and the workings of everything fit very well with the picture as a whole! The effect of the tone of color for most of the drawing gives it a futuristic feel on its own, and you captured that feeling at least for me, with the styling of the room. I love the bed! I want one... the chair rocks, and looks functional as well as cool! A+!!!
Love the couch, too... and the door... and well, everything!

hmm.. let me ask the judges... Judges, will you accept that as close enough?
*the judges mumble out something that sounds like any adult on Charlie Brown*
The judges will accept!

I don't know if you worked hard on this, but it certainly looks like you did. Think you can hop on over here and build this room for me? It reminds me somewhat of my old dorn at NMMI, what with the bed over the workspace, and the storage being tucked where ever it will fit while still offering functionality.
Back to the pot pie.

Well, from what I can remember I did work hard on it. It was something of a last minute drawing, though I didn't rush it much.
The hardest part was I think penning in the lines, all done by ruler. Each line (depending on the direction) had to more or less start from the same vanishing point. There's a word for it (besides perspective) and I think it's Orthographic. If that's wrong, please someone point it out. It probably is.

I can only imagine! I was looking at those lines thinking "This had to be with a straight edge. I wanna draw straight lines like that! No fair!" Heh.
