Here's my top 5 favorite characters from the Mario series. Now keep in mind, this is strictly my opinion so if you agree or disagree, that is perfectly fine, to each his own.

#5. Donkey Kong
This ape is quite a big one for the list. So much so that he has his own series called Donkey Kong Country where he goes on adventures to rescue his hoard of bananas.

#4. Toad
Now before you incinerate me with fire breath, hear me out. I personally find Toad to be quite cute from his design to his voice. And not to mention there's a few games starring him and his girlfriend which I'll talk about later.

#3. Princess Daisy
Some people prefer Peach, Some people prefer Rosalina, but me on the other hand, I prefer Princess Daisy as my favorite of the princesses in the Mario series. She's got that spunk and toughness. She doesn't take crap from anyone who messes with her.

#2. Mario
Nintendo's #1 mascot is only #2, not only is he the star of the franchise but he's one of the most infamous characters of video game history and gives Sonic a run for his money. There's no doubt he would make the list.

#1. Toadette
Ok here's a character that has really stuck with me for as long as I can remember. I first heard about Toadette when I first played Mario Party 7. And she along with Waluigi was one of the characters to be introduced in a Mario spin-off. Anyways she looks cute both design and voice wise. And is my #1 favorite Mario character.
