For `Mithgariel whose fantastic LARP's always creates stunning and magical worlds.

I think the biggest inspiration for this image came from a char I played in last LARP I participated. I just loved so much the deep sadness of that char - she has lost everything- her husband, her baby, her hopes and dreams. And why? What did she wrong to the kingdom she lived in? She was just a girl with little different faith than others, stolen from her real parents in childhood, risen as orphanage but thanks to a protege, she was married off to the important man in the kingdom. And first time she found happiness there. he was loyal, with sense of honor and always out for the right thing.. Who would ever imagine that for doing right things you will have to pay such a high price...

Not everyone appriciate being honest, telling truth and following conscience. There are always people who see that truth will only hurt their power and ruin their plans and if that person happens to be the king, then you will find yourself in a place where nothing you say and do, will not save you, specially when king has never forgive that his path was chosen and the choices he wanted to make was never allowed. He was born to be cursed by destiny the same way that young girl, who finally had found a place where she belonged.

They were friends once, king-to-be and just-a-girl-in-the-yard, back then.. They did not know nothing of the higher plans other had from them and that their friendship was something forbidden. When they found that out, they were isolated - one became a king, other married off. They were sure that ended there.

But that king never gave up hope to have her back. He is a king and he should get all what he wants. So he ordered to take her and kill her husband.. but it never went like plan... for people he was a symbol.. he was kind and stand up for them.. they did not let king to take him so easily.. and it all ended in blood..

And the king, seeing how powerless he is - all his actions just made it more and more impossible for him to have her.. and she never would even talk with him anymore - he was responsible for killing her loved ones.. killing her baby, who had done nothing to anyone..

And so there was only one thing left to do - if he cannot have her, noone will. She will die.. and for her, it was relief - her life what had turned to a nightmare will end.. she will go to a place where her loved ones will be waiting for her. Her burdens will be released..

So, a final hour.. one hour to go.. to wait and pray.. a faith waiting for her...

This image goes to the category - started long time ago, finished now. It looked really different first - there was window.. light coming from it and it was planned as a little "playing with light" image.. there was a scene in "Kingdom of Heaven" where one man was in dark cell and there came light from the little window.. that were the first idea came.. and then the story started to unfold when thinking to history.. all those queens who payed with their lives.. and there was gillion outside that window in one version too.. and then I realized how close the story of this image is getting to that larp char... with little modifications I had what I wanted.
