i love him, he's been so fun to write for~ i wasn't going to post a reference, but i figured it'd be better since i needed the visual ref for my own pics and this way if someone needs cameos,, well, here's a good boy!

-Personality traits: “Hey, friend. Strange times we must be in if we are switching bodies, but I’m sure everything will turn out just fine. My name’s ‘Aukai, and I’ve been told I’m pretty easy to be around. Few things can annoy or anger me. I’ve got a good handle on my emotions, helps that I spend so much time near and on the ocean, nothing’s quite as calming as the rhythmic moving of the waves. Of course, there’s been some more excitement in my life ever since little Kapono started helping me fish, but I can enjoy the occasional splash in an otherwise calm ocean, haha.”

-Quirks: “Being a fisherman is hard work, and, well, I guess I worked a little too hard during my years as a Spoink. I don’t know how familiar you are with the bodies of Spoinks, but if we stop bouncing, our hearts stop as well. It gave me… somewhat of a fear of resting when I was younger, and I worked myself too hard, and now I get pains in my heart if I work too much. Of course, I can’t just stop working, I’ve an important job to do… and fears are hard to overcome. But, ever since little Kapono started helping me, I’ve been finding it easier to relax, having that Popplio around really does help me… ah, I’m sorry, I’m rambling. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to take it easy while you are in my body.”

-Game I’ll be doing: “I was planning on doing the, and please correct me if I get the terms wrong in common, canoe race, or bowling - are those right? Ah, good. Well, spending as much time on the ocean as I do, I’ve got the stamina for rowing, and the arm strength for rolling the stone disk.”

-Other important notes: “Like I mentioned, my heart isn’t everything it ought to be, so if you feel any sort of pain in your chest, stop what you’re doing and take a long moment to breathe. Inhale for four seconds, hold for about two, and then exhale for four seconds. Doing this for about a minute should fix things, just make sure you’re only breathing while you’re doing it. My condition is far from life threatening at the moment, but I want to regulate it so that it doesn’t worsen, so please be careful while you’re in my body.”

Little extras that have no impact on the swap because i'm lame
>> 'Aukai's tattoos were acquired later in his life (besides the one underneath his eye), after he'd evolved! It was much easier to tattoo a larger form anyways.
>> Wears a small, tanned hide around his waist, which he uses to hold smaller hooks to free his hands a little while fishing.
>> Around his neck is a rope necklace with dried palm leaves and... a very crudely made hook. It almost seems like someone young and inexperienced made it; so why would he have kept it??
