Description I've been getting fed up with seeing all of these motivational posters (or de-motivational posters) on the front page.

I'm sorry, but I don't consider taking a screen shot or someone else's fanart and slapping a black border and words on it to be 'art'.

There are websites that center around this. For example, Very De-motivational centers around these. This, however, is DeviantArt, which centers around art.

How about we keep the images to their proper websites?

I have a few in my gallery which I actually really hate.
It proved that a cheap Twilight joke was the only reason people watched me.

I'm guilty of liking and even favoriting these, (usually for the humor--comedy is an art form, afterall. 'Least I think so) but I agree on the grounds that a screenshot and a few words are worth considering art.

I don't usually favorite them unless they're extremely clever, but I have saved a few of them, lol.

Mmm, lol I hear ya. I don't have that high of a standard considering how drowsy I often am when favoriting... you can't think clearly when half asleep, usually.

I agree with this. Why should the people who press a button and then toss the image into paint get more attention than the ones who actually worked to produce their art? *faves*

Thank you for this, indefinately. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone takes a picture and slaps some text on it and considers it "art", including these de-motivationals. Although, some of them are admittedly funny.

Funny, yes they are, but I agree. There are sites built around these where people can go to laugh at them.
