with regards to the title, the reason why I chose those words is because it is representative of my own understanding of tragedies and griefs of all people. During the time I was planning this project, I was experiencing some family issues, which made me feel bad about my life. Of course, little issues in my family pop up all the time; fights between me and my parents, arguments between my mom and her siblings, etc. etc. Anyway, I was feeling bad for myself. at first, this drawing was supposed to be representative of that feelings I was experiencing. But after the family issues ended, I realized that I had it much better than some other people. I certainly wasn't the only one who occasionally felt bad about family relations (these feelings are normal, apparently), and my situation certainly was much better than what other kids are facing with regards to their families. Ex: abuse, divorce, etc. So then I changed the meaning and purpose of this particular artwork: it is now my acknowledgement of the fact that there are kids out there with extremely, truly sad emotional issues. The window and the glass shattering is symbolic for these emotional issues.
