Description
It took me weeks before deciding whom to draw for the contest entitled: FANTASY WONDERLAND fav.me/d6k5yq3 Been reading the rules over and over again, so I came up of the idea of sharing to you a piece of the Filipino culture. This, which I'm very proud to say, was written by our National hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, to whom we owe our country's freedom.
Maria Makiling is a Filipino fairy. Most likely known as "diwata" in our language. She is pretty and charming, tall and graceful. Her color is pure brown and her eyes were beautifully big and black. Her hair was long and thick. Her hands and feet were small and delicate. She was a fairy-like creature born under the moonbeams of the Philippines. She was the ruling spirit of the Mount Makiling (Mountains in the background), but she seldom came within sight with the people.
Whenever there were storms that came through, she then restores every damaged places as by walking through them. She is kind-hearted, especially to old people and the beggars, but also punishes those who harms the nature. I really find her interesting, you could read more about her through this link: joserizal.nhcp.gov.ph/kids/mar… .
Another thing, the mountains of Makiling is shaped like a lady laying in the fields. (Wish I had more space to include it in this drawing.) link: journeyingjames.com/2012/07/mt… .
So here it is, I think I've written so much, I usually get carried away whenever I share interesting stories
