i'm not gonna ask for your rendering settings as i know its a trade secret
when you apply texture to the models, do you use hand drawn or photograph or something else?

I've tried to achieve "photo look", so in my case photo textures were the way to go, at least for albedo maps; though support textures (gloss, reflection, normal, etc.) and masks are usually hand painted or retouched.
