Alright. Then i need to dig a bit deeper.
Im also working on a animation as well and my plan was to use webm for a more compressed file with play/stop control.
I have the feeling, that i can learn a lot from you just by observing your work (dont worry, i wont copy anything. Never.)
So i wish you a... good night (you are from US, if i remember correctly, right?). Im roughly 6-8 hours ahead :3

For sound I've just converted to a .swf in the past, but that ends in an endless loop x3 I know it's possible to make a stop/start button for a .swf, but I haven't personally looked into how to do that since .gifs work just as well for me
And ohh, well I don't mind being used as an inspiration as long as things aren't directly copied XD and you said you won't, so no issues there ^^

SWF and flash slowly comes to an halt because of safety problems. But i could create one.
There is also HTM5, but most of the scripts can be blocked by browser extensions.
But i finally found the formats (was looking for pictures, because... motion pictures >.>)

So, webm are supported. This opens a lot of opportunities
I need some time to finish my animation until i can test it.
But im sure, it would work beautiful with your projects.
You could use the same source for DeviantArt and Youtube.
