just like any other pleated skirt, a rectangle, pleated, then I draped it for size and shape and snapped it on

I love the way you all went about makig your costumes. the colours are exact and just amazing.
As a fellow SM cosplayer, I was wondering if you could give any tips on making the sailor outfit. I'm cosplaying season 1 Sailor Moon (with a bit of influence from PGSM) and have a rough idea on how to go about making my costume but I would still lvoe some tips or how to's. Would you care to give a bit of advice?

it's mostly in regards to how to go about making the bodice and attatching the skirt
I have an ice skating uniforms pattern that has the basic shape of Sailor Moon's fuku (the leotard with skirt over top). My neighbor is helping me and she is mostly worried on how to attach the collar and the skirt as well as to go about the ringed gloves

Well, it's up to you really, and up to what kind of fabric and stuff you use! I used satin so I couldn't physically sew the skirt and stuff on. All of my stuff snaps onto the bodysuit, and I made the glove rings and then hand stitched them to the gloves

we have mostly cotton fabric (I was against the use of satin for the first season outfits > o > a little picky on it ahaha)
Hmmm I NEVER thought of snaps, in all honesty. That sounds rather ingenius ahaha
I figured the ringlets on the gloves (and probably the sleeve ringlets) would have to be carefully hand stitched.
I am probably going to sew my skirt and collar to the bodice... I opened up my 'ice skating uniforms' pattern today and read over how they put the skirt over top and decided it would still be pretty easy to sew it on. ^ - ^

hhhhmmmm you may have a very hard time with cotton, since it doesn't have a give. I mean, you're obviously not making the bodysuit out of cotton, right?
