really really like this design + character, thought i'd share!

her backstory, if you're interested:

Aurum is a firescales dragon who's only alive because her mother, who worked at the palace as a maid, realized Aurum's ability almost as soon as she hatched and was able to sneak her out to raise in a remote part of the woods. Aurum was discoved when she was four, when Princess Rubellite and her guard spotted her while hunting (Aurum's scales are very bright/reflective, like gold). The princess revealed herself to be an animus when she healed the guard, who attacked Aurum, believing her to be a runaway criminal. Aurum was brought back to the palace and nearly executed by the Queen, who followed the traditional SkyWing belief that dragons with unusual, powerful abilities should be killed (she was unaware of her only daughter being an animus). Aurum was sent to the dungeons, her execution being planned, but Rubellite was able to convince her mother (with the help of some magic) to let her live, promising to take responsibility for anything Aurum might do. She started giving Aurum jewelry over the years, the most prized of which was a medallion that gave her control over her firescales (only dangerous when she wanted them to be). Aurum became a highly respected general in the following years, while Rubellite prepared to take over the throne. They spent almost all their free time together, and when they were fifteen, they got married. Shortly afterwards Rubellite challenged the Queen for the throne and won.
Now they're Pyrhhia's literal power couple, due to their rank and abilities (and the fact that they have a nice healthy relationship because that's wonderful)
