This is a work in progress of the first piece to the "Dreams" Series. I was not expecting to start off this soon and with this piece specifically, to be completely honest.

A couple years ago, I had a dream where I witnessed my closest uncle emerge from inbetween two cars on our driveway. He was stumbling towards me, under the influence. He spoke to me, "Come here, don't be afraid." I had turned around and headed towards the street by the end of his words, quickening my pace. I felt his presence follow my direction. I did not notice the oncoming speeding vehicle as I stepped onto the vacant street. In that moment, I felt my uncle pull me back as he put himself in my position. There was impact, and an immediate halt. The vehicle reversed and the image of his remains was engraved into my mind. He replaced me, he became the one to sustain disintegration. The torture of this illusion of a momentary dream remained the same and haunted the waking life, and it has never been more relevent than as of recent events.

My closest uncle passed away earlier this week. I think I'm still processing the grief that losing a close family member comes with. Whatever you do, please take care of yourself while you are here because "here" is temporary and the human body is fragile.
