Alright...
This is the biggest animation I've ever done XD And the first with cutting scenes and such, so it's very crappy.
I know it moves too fast but Idunno what to do.

Basically its a wolf leaping on top of a post and using a technique that was inspired by Ginga Densetsu Weed's "Battouga", tearing a chunk off the wood, and then landing.

yey for crappy animations 8D I did this in PAP, which is the messiest animation program EVER, not to mention my tools that I know how to use are limited to new frame, pencil, and eraser. XD

Oh boy, someones giving ratings to my art? x) Lol
Yea the rough lines are still there, because its just a rough sketch animation, I've never had any formal animation training in my life, so I was just testing things out With the program I was using, you can't really clean up the animation since the only tools are the pencil and the eraser.

No, I actually really like it. I'd probably only be half as good with something along the lines of animation.

ok... i am a learning animator (self learning i guess), and i am wondering.. how do you know where you are going with this??? i am using a free program called LiveSwiff from [link] , and once i put in a new frame, I CANNOT SEE THE OLD FRAME, SO I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT THE NEXT PICTURE!!!! kindof like a transparent paper is what i need, so i can see what i am doing.... do you just... guess? or what? because if that is what you do, i'm screwed.

(also i just downloaded it yesterday, and just got on it a couple of minutes ago) so please help me!

I'm afraid I don't know, since I am not familiar with that program. In the program I did this in, there was a certain button I could click that made the frame I did before come up lighter on the next frame, like it was slightly transparent.
I suggest not just guessing Try reading up on your program if you're not too familiar about it and see if it has a feature like that. If not, then I suggest either traditional animation with paper and a lightbox (or if you can't afford a lightbox, some glass with a light beneath it), the animation program "Plastic Animation Paper" which you might have to buy (I got mine from a friend), or Photoshop, where you can just draw a frame, make a new layer, lower the opacity on the new layer and draw on it.

thanks... i actually did the "traditional animation with paper with paper and a lightbox" thing... only i didn't use a light box... or glass with a light beneath it... i just used printing paper and traced over my first drawing with a second drawing a little different... and so on and so forth... but thanks tho... it's on my page.. the newest deviation for now.

The program is called Plastic Animation Paper. It is very basic and simple, but also doesnt give you a lot of tools or leeway to work with

It looks pretty cool How many FPS are you on?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Idess In reply to blumgrl [2006-09-19 23:18:15 +0000 UTC]

Ummm I didnt really pay attention, but I think the Paper and Plastic default is 12.50 FPS. Of course, I edited some of this in Adobe Imagready, and slowed down a few of the frames because my lack of in-betweening made things go really fast XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

blumgrl In reply to Idess [2006-09-20 01:17:12 +0000 UTC]

That could be why. If you change it to 18 fsp you'll be able to fit in more frames per second to make it smoother.. thought it takes longer...

wow this was really good. not bad at all. the only actual critique i can give is the switch between his jump and the jump off the poll is it was a little rough...but that's ok...it comes better with practice i'm sure.
