Random thing of Swiftkill I animated. She's supposed to be saying "What?!". What's the context? I have no idea. I just wanted to animate this.
I think it looks pretty smooth. I almost messed it up and skipped a frame, but I realized it and fixed it. I didn't put in all her markings because this is just a pencil test. I just put in her lighter markings, mainly because of the eyebrow movements (to see how that moves as well).
I hope Kay likes it.

EDIT: Hehehe...I noticed sometime last night that I spelled animation wrong...it was a typo...I tend to type fast and I didnt' realize it...I'm not gonna fix it...

I have a cheap lightbox at home and some pegbars I got from school (used to keep the papers straight). Just used my scanner, photoshop, and image ready to put it together. There's probably better programs to use but it's all I've got to work with for now.

It is a pretty smooth animation! ^^ My only real comment is- while the mouth and eyes change.. The ears are perfectly still. Seeing as a lot of canine communication and moods are shown through ear signals, it's just sorta odd..

This is fantastic! I think you totally nailed the mouthing of the word "what". If you hadnt have said thats what she was saying, I would have known anyway! That is how you know it's great

You'd be surprised. I've watched some really poorly animated stuff. The mouths weren't synced to dialogue at all and even if they were, they didn't look like they were saying what was being said. And the stuff was really choppy, like, someone left out every other frame and said, "Good enough."

It's a bit hard to explain. I actually had to say 'what' a lot so get the mouth movement right. To actually animate, having a lightbox helps to see the picture underneath so you can make the movements you want to make and keep everything even.
I'm probably not the best person to be explaining animation because...I'm still in school for it.
