Description
So I happened to have half my head shaved when the new champ Vi came out. I loved everything about her, so I knew I had to make this costume for Dragoncon this year. The fingers move on the gloves, and the red/blue gems light up. Overall I'm happy with how this costume came out, now I just need to learn to do a better job when I play as Vi.Photo by : www.facebook.com/josephchilinpβ¦
Make up by : lindze.com/
****EDIT****
I got a lot of questions about the IV instead of VI. The photo is not flipped. If you look at the rest of the costume everything is on the correct side. I shaved half my head before VI was ever a champ. Then when VI came out I knew I had to do the costume, but I wasn't going to shave the rest of my head. So I choose to mirror her tattoo at this con. I think in the next photo shoot I do, I will have it read Vi int he correct direction. But it was not a mistake. I actually was calling this my "IV" costume, and thought it was funny. I knew I would get questions about it, but I wasn't that worried about it. If the direction of the tattoo ruins the costume for you I'm really sorry. I hope you can look past it at all the work I did on everything else, and enjoy it as much as I do!

If you wish to go for zero armor & magic resist, it's very ideal to go like that against high damage carries like vayne, who kills you before you can snap your fingers.

Why is it flipped horizontaly? Β
The tattoo under her eye now reads as IV instead of VI. Β Β Β

Amazing Job!!! It looks great. Is it really heavy though? Keep up the superb work and can't wait to see what you come up with next.
PS: Why the half shaved head? Sounds cool but is there any reason behind it?

I can see a serious issue with this otherwise amazing costume.
Spend an hour getting it on, immediately have to use the restroom...

Only because it distinctly unnerves me, for some reason. the VI should be under your left eye. (actually, her hair is backwards too, you should have the other side shaved). Unless of course, you managed to take this picture in a mirror?Β Outside of that, absolutely amazing costume. (sorry to nag about that, its just.... unnerving to me.

My guess is she had shaved half her head prior to any thought about the character, and it's not like you can just grow out your hair overnight and shave the other side. And to keep it consistent with her preestablished hair, she put the VI on the right.
Not sure why that would really be unnerving.

I realize that, as she stated she had had half her head shaved at the time Vi came out, it's just weird seeing it backwards like that. I'm not saying it can't be that way, and I know that she can't just fix it immediately, but for future knowledge if she plans on doing the costume again at a later date.

This is exactly what happened. I had just shaved my head, then they came out with VI! Had I only known!!!Β I choose to mirror the tattoo and make an "IV" costume. The next shoot I do will have that tattoo flipped. I actually thought it was kinda funny that my head was reversed.

In reference to the description: Pshhh don't be sorry about "ruining" it for anybody; you did good and if this really "ruins" it for anybody just because you flipped the tattoo and the hair (for very understandable reasons) then those people have issues.

Amazing job - Vi has become one of my new favorites as well. I tried her once and didn't quite get her kit at first blush but after taking her out for some jungling/bruiser tries, wow. Love her And your outfit is WINSAUCE.Β

Oh wow, I just love this! You look totally flawless dear! Gosh, this is well put together. You did an amazing job with all of your armor/mechanical pieces, and that corset is absolutely GORGEOUS. May I ask if you constructed it or purchased it? Overall, your costume has fantastic impact, and props to the photographer for excellent composition. Bravo!

I constructed this costume, it's not purchased.Β The bulk of the work was done by me, but as I rushed to finish it, I turned my boyfriend Tom and my roommate Danny into sanding slaves.Β I also has some help fitting thing on me by my best friend Leo. I wouldn't have finished in time for Dragoncon without their help!

Whoops, I meant to specify to ask if you had made/purchased the corset, as I really loved the fabric choice and the design. Might I enquire what fabric/pattern you may have used? I just love the look!! But wow, way to go teamwork!! Absolutely sensational- really; it is superb. I understand turning boyfriends into sanding slaves- I've done the same thing with my armor build. Thanks for sharing doll!

Hey,
Β Cathy of God Save the Queen Fashions recommended I use a tutorial found here : foundationsrevealed.com
This was the first corset I made that started with nothing but measurements and math.Β My brother was actually in town and instead of doing fun things I forced him to sit there and help measure me!Β Actually we had a lot of fun plotting all the points. I made a mock up and then altered that until I got what I wanted for Vi.Β The fabric is just some junk I had around the house and isn't even very nice.Β At first I was going to make the corset out of leather, but then I figured it should be more like canvas so it can get dirty and take a beating. That was more "VI' like.Β I actually plan on tea/coffee staining it, I'm not happy with how clean it looks!Β I hope that helps a bit!Β

Awesome job on the costume.
And a little tip from what I know about getting crushed by vi (every single time) is that she plays best with a fine mix of attack damage and armor, set up right I've seen a good vi take out a tanky champs like morg under a turret late game and walk away without a scratch.

I never play vi, not really my style, I'm a better support. I find that the sooner you build cleaver the better though, just from observation. At the very least brutalizer should be an early game priority.
