Cool, cool, just to comment one. They´re nearly photopit-like.
So it was worth fighting for frontrows, hehe.
In the venue where they´re playing near here, no cams are allowed...otherwise I´d have maybe tried to go there and catch some pics, hehe.

Well, no cams were allowed in Berlin either, but nobody stopped me from getting into the hall with my cam and then I shot 70% of the show standing in the second row without any problem! So I think security in "Velodrom" just sucked and I was the lucky one

Hehe, that was good luck indeed!
What cam did you use?
Well, at the venue here, they controll each and everyone´s bag and if you have a cam, you have to leave it at the entrance.
Knowing that, I surely don´t bring one along, when having no photopass. I would never ever leave my cam somewhere, hehe.

I used Canon EOS 350D with the default lens... Yeah, I'm a newbe
And well, I had to leave it once at my last Nightwish show. The guards didn't allow me to bring my cam in and I had to leave it in their big metal box (it's soft inside) for such equipment... But I'm not going to do so in future.

Hehe, those pics clearly proove, that it´s possible to get some decent results with a kitlens!
You just have to know how to use it properly and as long as the light is not too bad, those lenses aren´t that bad, too.
Soft box or no soft box...I wouldn´t feel good leaving my cam...
I remember I once left my cam bag at some wardrobe, because the venue was so packed that it was too hard to carry it all the time. Well in the end I went to the wardrobe like 3 times, just to check if everything´s allright, haha.
A bit crazy maybe...but equipment is expensive...

Yes, I understand you! Totally! But that time fortunately nothing wrong happened and after the show I took my cam as good as new. This kind of cams are not so expensive, but... you know Even 550 EUR can't be just found on the ground
And concerning the lens - I'm gonna probably buy a CANON EF 50 f/1.8 II for the shows I'll get accreditation for.

Exactly!
The 50/1,8 is definitely a great lens for gigs. Got the same from Nikon.
But I haven´t used it for quite a while now. It´s sometimes a bit too "big", if I´m in a really small venue without having a chance to move. In such cases I´m really dependent on my zoom...
But if I have a photopit and space enough to move it´s the best choice.
