Description
I think the image speaks for itself.Or as I should say, screams for itself.
Look attentively, full view or whatever... lots of details or things you might see, shapes, that you would thought you had dreamt.
I've just finished it. And discovered it was 3 centimeters too big for my scanner. Damn.
The photograph sucks, and the cropping has just diminished the whole damn thing. So I may edit it later with a better photo.
For a moment I hated this picture. Just like I have hated all the paintings I've done. Because it's so far away to what I wante dto do, and even worse, so much worse than it was at one point of it... before I decided not to put the final point there... The "mouth" was way better before, the colors and shapes were way better before...
I had to prevent myself from ripping it off...
I'm totally fucked up...

this is very cool!
i know exactly what you mean by saying "you hate this one and all of your other paintings, because they are far away from what you wanted to do". i feel the same way about my own stuff.
though no one of us can look inside your head and see the vision you had, we see an impressive and expressive painting - and like it. so forget about the "struggle within" for a minute and enjoy the appreciation
that's what i do

wow thanks ^^
i always struggle when painting, trying to know when to stop, or whether to make a little change or addtion/ alteration or not.. knowing i don't have a ctrl-Z ... Sometimes i really get angry at what it is becoming or a bad choice i made or not knowing anymore what i wanted it to look like, or express.. getting lost in the process.
I guess i was still angry when i submitted that picture.. Now i have forgotten about being frustrated at this one .. I'm too frustrated about recent works to take care
anyway thanks for the great comment ^^ .. it's very, very appreciated.

you're welcome.
still i am kinda.... "surprised" to read that someone has so similar thoughts
your "ctrl-z"-picture really nails it. would be so cool to go back a few steps if you see yourself ruining the canvas
but on the other hand... that's the adventure!
don't procrastinate!

aahaha i cannot not procrastinate. Even if I actually do things i always have to postpone some because my lifetime is far too short for all i want to do...
and well, I guess it's something painters often feel, meaning, traditionnal painters... Digital is so relieving for some things (including the cancel and diverse version options), and this is why i got a tablet in order to try.. but studies are getting too much time on me :S ..

Wow, this is really beautiful and disturbing. The scratchy lines are perfect for the subject, and the background works really well too... can I hang this on my wall?

yes, it's true, I was reminded of munch afterward ... I guess the same kind of feeling leads somehow to the same kind of representations sometimes, as they are strong haunting images, and emotions.
thank you much

[ok, let's be the 63rd even if i don't comment widely commented deviations]
i like it. the photography may have spoilt something (is the bright thingy on the left part of the painting) but it's fine anyway... nice concept, creepy, yeah.

eheh i don't know if this deviation was so widely commented .. it's just that as i answer nearly every comment and soemtimes gets answer to them, it doubles or triple the number of actual comments, heh.
yes indeed, the lighter thing on the left is a reflection, and is not a part of the painting.. I should get some kind of mate filter to put against my window when i photograph the paintigs, or somehting like this. Tshh, it's such a pain in the ...
but thank you

and about not putting it on your wall... haha I'm generally making paintings that have something a little bit disturbing, may it be plain horror or just an insisting look. Oh fortunately, I also make some pretty ones... for the case I'd like to sell some ..

i must say this is quite good. it looks like this person is in much pain and hes looking for an escape, but he cant find one. and i looked moderatley hard to find some shapes. i saw what looked like hands reaching out for this person. maybe pushing him down into a spiral of deppression or reaching for him to help well thats just my two cents

Idrils In reply to fedupchild [2005-05-23 13:20:59 +0000 UTC]
hehe
in fact now I'm not sure to remember what were these shapes.. i should look at the original, it's much clearer... I think there is a kind of a shadow of someone besides, and like black bird flying above, but i'm not sure.. dman, where are we going if I'm not sure myself .. But I guess that what you saw is also to be seen then eheh

I'd love to play drums...and piano... and in a minor way I'd like to know to play some instruments like bass, ethnical drums, violin ... etc

blunaowl In reply to Idrils [2005-05-14 22:14:15 +0000 UTC]
Um.... lemme think. Well, okay, right now I play drums and geetar and a teeeeny bit of self taught piano and bass... I used to play violin and the recorder in primary school (mind you, who DIDN'T play recorder?!) um... trombone until a few months ago... I tried clarinet but didn't like it after a while. Too complicated.
I can't remember the others. Probably really simple things like xylophone And keyboard - I think there's an actual playing difference between piano and keyboard. Don't know what.
Ta da!

It's like... hmmm... it's like a rubbishy beginner version of the clarinet, but instead of lil' buttons to press down to change the note, you cover up holes... kinda like a flute tilted to point down at the floor instead of to the side... hard to explain.

I keep trying to get a background effect like that in my art but I can't because i'm retarded. Or it might just be that I'm too cheap to buy art supplies (cos i'm a bum student) so I use fireworks/photoshop/psp/paint! One day my art will be as much awesomeness...

Awsome. I like how the outer border is more black, as if hes being enclosed in the darkness. And I love how you have the eye peeking out. So much fear and uncertainty and timidness in the pose. Hes so cute though... i want to give him a big hug and tell him everything will be allright hehe... Realy great job, nice colors and damn cool details.

I like comments that gives an idea of how people see my stuff.. I love that ehehe. I generally try to do it but I'm getting bored and frustrated and unimaginative... I hope I won't ever fall in the "wow" message syndrom *roll eyes*...
ehehehe I'm generally the one leaving in jealous rage, and I'm kind of sadisticly happy to switch roles for an instant ehehehe
But suddenly I remember that the fact I have no time for painting and else means that I'll waste the object of this jealousy anyway gives me my frustration back.
damn.
I think I'm really the one painted here... Too much closed into its own fingers in fear, and too much fixing its eyes to see something. I just don't have grey skin.
But I like hugs
