Off to a good start! I look foward to seeing more about this story/setting!
Two things though that might be helpful to you: 1) I've found that unlined paper is SO much easier to use than lined for imagery. I find that I usually end up comparing the strightness of the blue lines versus the quality of my own lines: stright, angled, etc etc. 2) Looseness is very important when starting: a dozen light lines builds an edge much better than one solid line, and they're easier to change/erase without leaving imprints in the paper.
More! More!

If you're interested in the storyline, sign up at www . writersdock . com and check out the Towers of Adrala in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Forum. So far I have a prologue and 5 chapters up (I suggest the Alternate Prologue first, the old one sucks) Though you won't see any of what I've drawn so far because these things don't come until 3/4 the way through the entire story. That's why I say UED insead of it's real acronym, you might guess what it stands for and figure out a giant plot twist. (I have no idea what UED stands for, just some random letters)
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions! I was at a friend's house so a spiral was the only canvas I had at the moment. I did start off with a line-circle, dummy figure and lied a fuller figure over that, and over that, and over that. The scanner somehow didn't pick up the hundreds of erase marks that were rubbed all over it, for which I'm glad. I used to have better materials, when I was really into drawing, but I didn't really have a need for them when I found that I was more interested in the stories I've made up for the pictures than the pictures themselves.
Thanks again!
