”So, you have told the symptoms back at the check in”, the doctor looked at Ranma. ”High fever, cough, fatigue, vomiting and...”
”Hhhh-choo!” the boy sneezed.
”...And sneezing. Now, let's take your temperature”, the doctor said and took an ear thermometer from his pocket.
”I can feel you have a high fever even by touching you”, he said after only touching Ranma's cheek. ”But...” he put the thermometer in the boy's ear. It beeped in only a few seconds. ”104.6... This is not good. And you said he has been throwing up? Does he eat and drink?”
”Well, he doesn't actually eat... a bit porridge yesterday... But does drink hot juice and tea”, Genma answered.
”Hm...We will take him in”, the doctor said.
”What? My son, in hospital?!” Genma shouted. Or more like screamed.
”We will do some tests on him right away. First, we'll send you to the x-rays. After that, he will be put in the children's infection ward to wait for the results. If the results are negative, he can be signed out today. But if it is positive, he will stay for at least the night.”
”Now, get in the bed”, a female nurse said, smiling, about to put Ranma down on the bed. As Ranma was coughing like a donkey, Genma stared at him, very worried.
They walked through the hospital corridors, Genma following his son being pushed forward in a hospital bed. He sighed, took his phone from his pocket and called Soun:
”Hi. Well, how did it go?” Soun asked.
”Seems bad. We are on our way to the x-rays... and next children's infection ward for some more tests... If the tests are good, we can go back home today. If not, he's staying.”
”R-Ranma...?” Akane stammered. ”Can we come see him?”
”Do come.”

So, they are off to get some x-rays if Ranma's lungs to see if he has pneumonia.
