phew, finally done! this took two days to make, including the photoshop crash on the first day, which meant i had to start over. i guess photoshop couldn't handle the sixty layers i was jumping around in... that led me to Matt Kohr's realistic texture class [link] which really made me confident on the second try. this turned out so neat i might have to buy a print of it myself.obviously heavily influenced by [link]

Very nice. It's neat how standing back from it, it looks one way, but as you move in close and remember the tutorial you can see the techniques being laid down upon the canvas

it helps to take breaks and stuff. i mean, this took all damn day. did some work, paused, watched some youtube, did more work, paused, ate, more work... and that texture class from ctrlPaint helped too, because i wanted to see if i had learned anything from it. and i think i have! also, thanks for the fav
