"A lively, somehow bustling, yet disaster-stricken city stood tall above a small community that surrounded it. Glass skyscrapers and tall edifices rose from the ground and reached for the pink and blue sky, the sun already setting over the horizon. There was a large blizzard a mere hour earlier, but now it has reduced to a gentle snowfall once more, just like before. This was extremely common in this area of the United States, and survivors like E, Sarah, Vučko and Cyle were already used to such climates. This was a huge surprise to Southerners like Katherine and Leo, however. Leo often complained about the cold and how the snowflakes had found their way into the small, exposed areas between his scarf and the top of his coat collar. Many a time, he had said that the sensation would be so cold that it stung. Katherine, however, has seemingly adapted rather quickly to the new, everchanging climate and seemed to enjoy it. Although she has only grown up around hot sun all year round, she was not bothered by the cold as much and greeted the ice-cold winter with a sense of innocent, child-like curiosity that struck her speechless.

At some stores that the survivors raided along the way, before even reaching the state of Pennsylvania, the group already picked up new clothing and winter gear. They knew ahead of time that winter in the Northeast was going to be harsh, since E and Sarah kept warning them before even entering Pennsylvania. Katherine had already looted a red wool coat that she found in a abandoned mall in Charlotte, North Carolina, and she often wore this to keep her warm during the harsh Northeastern winter..."

Merry (Belated) Christmas to you all! I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas. I decided that instead of using the typical journal entry to let you guys know that I am still alive, I decided to use a painting of my character Katherine to do the talking instead. I got a MacBook Pro for Black Friday (I LOVE it.) and this is actually the first painting I have made on it, so its thrilling to me since the painting functions and everything still work on a Mac! Although my painting skills have really diminished and this looks unsatisfactory by my standards, I still wanted to post it anyway. I admit, the painting isn't 100% original. I actually got the posing from one of my favorite artists' work, so this is the original painting that I modeled this one off of:

Now, the inspiration for this piece of work was not only from this, but also the eNovel that I am currently working on. This is actually a scene straight from the book itself, and I figured that I might as well share that very excerpt with you all at the very beginning of this description.
