Description I' have lost count of how long I've been trying to finish this...

Anyway... WOOO! XD

Art trade with wich stated in summer. Poppy, sorry and I'll make it up to you somehow, someday.

Shading was hard to do on this one. Maybe it's because it's the wrong side of the paper (maybe it has a difference), or just because of the fact that the paper sucks. I tried to do the sky, and this is what I got, wich is a bit better than expected when started and worse that I though it would be.
Not much detail on the windows, because it's just above my current skill, and the A4 paper is too small for that. I like the right side better, because I enjoyed drawing the small houses. I'm kindof missing the line between the bright and dark side of the buildings like in THE REFERENCE [link]

Regardless, I'm happy I got this off my chest. Hope ya'll like it

I drew this from a picture so not much actual skill was used. This [link] is probably the only landcape thing I've done by myself

Hate to comment on your page so much, but I forgot to say you did the perfect amount of detail to breathe in a natural life to your buildings. I like how they look fresh and easily done. That's how good the drawing is. Just refreshing! I love the unfinished look at the bottom to the left. Lovely style. That one building with the small windows to the right does look realistic. I love it all.

That's alright, I wont complain XD
(I'll just reply to both messages here)
I used a ruler for the straight lines, because drawing them by hand is almost impossible, so you can do that aswell. And I'm quite lazy at art, this one drawing took me 5 MONTHS to do. I just decided one day that I will finish it. Especialy because it was an art trade. And this is my very first drawing (and currently the only one) that had scenery and that much detail.
The unfinished look is because there wasn't anything there on the reference because I made the buildings in a little different spot than on the reference. But it turned out as a nice little thing I guess.
Regardless, thanks. I'm glad that you like it that much ^^

Well, your current skill totally exceeds mine in this cityscape/empire state building drawing! Excellent job at capturing this Modern 7 Wonders of the World!

Thankyou! Though I still think I could've done better with the details. As far as I see, your graphite drawings have way better shadings and colors. And if you do portraits that good, it shouldn't be a big problem for you to do other stuff with a bit of practice

Thank you! Yeah you're right, the key word is "practice." I have to do an empire state building for a tutorial and I'm frustrated. Hate staying in the lines, drawing them straight like a drafter (I just don't do cityscapes or skyscrapers). I think I'm failing miserably. But I must trod on and complete it.

Thanks! I actually think it should have more details in some places, but I still think it's the best work I've ever done

DAMN man! This thing came a long way since the last I saw of it!
What a fantastic job here.Your line work is pretty fantastic, your shading is very nice and uniform. The perception seems a touch off to me, but I could be wrong. It seems a little odd around the taller building on the left. As I said, I could easily be wrong on that.
Still...Very, very nice.

Ignas357 In reply to classicEIGHT [2011-10-18 18:57:17 +0000 UTC]

Since you last saw it? maybe it's "heard" because I havent showed it to anyone lol.
I know that the building to the left should be more bent to the inside. I did that one, asswell as the main building with a help of a ruler, because I dont even know if it's even possible to do straight lines this long. The one on the left was too big to do with hand, and doing curves with a ruler is... well the same as eating soup with a fork XD
Anyway, thanks. Getting feedback is the best reward for your art lol xD ... atleast for me
