The theme for January 2021 was

novelty / something new

The idea behind the drawing is that the girls are seeing the sea for the first time : D

They are my OCs, Kayra and Oyra, and you could've already seen them on my other works, like:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

(well, mostly Kayra)

As a new year resolution for 2021, I wanted to start drawing more using photos as reference images for backgrounds, and I did so here, using an old photo from our summer holidays ( : It was quite hard to decide how to colour some elements with cell shading (especially the sea), but I'm quite happy of how it looks like.
