What you captured on each of their faces is perfect, each reflects a different emotion or state of mind.
Excitement - The lady on the left
Happy/Joy - The lady in the center
Serenity - The lady on the right
Alert/Cautious - Gentleman under the umbrella
Sympathy/Empathy - Lady under the umbrella
It took me a while with the lady on the right, at first glance I thought sorrow, but a closer look show a couple of small things; the small smirk , the umbrella she is not using, and the hood on here jacket it not being up. Those suggest that she is not unhappy, she might be, but that she has accepted where she is and is not trying to shield herself from the rain.
The background offers a nice contrast to the fore and mid ground, being slightly out of focus and the fact most everyone is either heading away from the 5 people in focus, or otherwise seeking cover from the rain.

Obviously, I do not have time to "understand" what I see, when taking an image like this - I act on intuition, an impulse. You have described to me what have I actually seen (from your perspective) - this is fantastic!
It is so important for me to see the viewers perception. With an image, I do only half of the job - the audience makes it complete.
Unfortunately, it is rather rare on DA (or anywhere on the web) to get a meaningful comment on one's work⦠So: very much appreciated!
