(Yaaay my first critique!)
I thought this photo really captured the sad and somber mood portrayed by the reference an empty seat can mean to someone and what it symbolizes. I have seen quite a few pictures with the "empty seat in a park" thing. So I wouldn't see this as original, but the technique was good. Making this black and white made the mood even more gloomy. My personal impact is a good one. I can look at this picture and take something from it. I can image. Isn't that what an artist is meant to do? To spark creativity and inspire others! I could look at this and write a story based on only this picture because it isn't so limited in possibilities. This is an especially beautiful view, so I couldn't see how anyone could go wrong when taking a picture here e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thank you very much for your critique! It is very useful for me.
Yes, I was aware of the empty bench "cliche" while shooting, but still was attracted by the image possibilities. And it looks like I still got an image with some impact despite of it.
Regarding going wrong with shooting a "beautiful view": it actually took me quite a few shots to get to this image - the rest of them weren't nearly as interesting (and I am not even completely happy with this one). But this, at least partly, can be attributed to my limited photographic skill levelβ¦
Thank you, again: I really appreciate you took the time to review my image!
