I used masks and safety equipment special. Lead is very toxic! Thanks for the warning.

it can still be on your skin. As long as you're careful, it won't hurt you but any kind of exposure can do damage. I'm actually impressed because not many people are able to work with lead without making some sort of huge mistake. I never said it was a bad idea to make something out of lead.

It's really most harmful to children. It has many uses from beautiful ceramic glazes to being a very malleable and low-temp metal to sculpt with. Like any element, it's unique and has advantages that nothing else does. It's unfortunate that it's so restricted today because it's toxic when ingested and people freak out over that. There are lots of things you simply can't eat without harmful side effects.
