DreamStar? Doesn't sound like an arab craft at all.

If you want to go the Arab route, though, it could also refer to a verse in the Koran:
"But we touched the heavens and found them filled with a mighty guard and shooting-stars; and we did sit in certain seats thereof to listen; but whoso of us listens now finds a shooting-star for him on guard."
-Sura 72:8-9

Doesn't mention the word "dream", just says shooting star many times.
At least try to translate it into arabic. Or name it after some arabic weapon, like Saif, Kilij, Shamshir, etc.
Or how about translating shooting star into arabic?

Well, It's not like they renamed the Eagle, Tornado, Sentry, Typhoon, etc.

None of those are of their creation.

Neither is the DreamStar, although its acquisition wasn't entirely legal. I'll leave it at that.

Ah, the description made it sound like they made it.

It was derived from the XF-34 DreamStar, a fictional U.S. experimental fighter from the Dale Brown novel Day of the Cheetah [link] .

One thing I somewhat find strange here is that this Dreamstar looks a lot more like a direct derivative of the X-29 (I've always pictured the XF-34 as a drastically advanced design that seems to more closely resemble the G.I. Joe Conquest X-30 with a single 3-D thrust-vectoring nozzle; which Dale Brown's descriptions seem to imply).
But considering that the Tiger Force once used F-20s, and that an X-29 derivative seems more plausible for export, I guess it works in this case.
